Harold T. Pinkett Student of Color Award

About this program

The Society of American Archivists' Archivists and Archives of Color Section, funded by the SAA Foundation, offers the Harold T. Pinkett Student of Color Award to support graduate students of color pursuing archival careers by covering SAA Annual Meeting registration, related hotel and travel expenses, and a one‑year SAA membership for up to two recipients each cycle. The award promotes professional development and increased SAA participation through attendance at the Annual Meeting. Eligible applicants are students of color (e.g., African, Asian, Latinx, Middle Eastern/North African, or Native American descent), with preference for full‑time graduate students enrolled in an archival management program during the academic year preceding the award; submissions require a CV/resumé and a personal statement (max 500 words) addressing goals, benefits of meeting attendance, and commitment to documenting communities of color. Applications are due February 28 each year.
