About this program
Alpha Omega Alpha offers the Helen H. Glaser Student Essay Award to encourage medical students to produce original scholarly essays related to medicine. Up to five winners will receive $1,500, and winning essays will be published in *The Pharos*; submissions are due December 1, 2026.
Applicants must be enrolled in a medical school with an active ΑΩΑ chapter or association, though ΑΩΑ membership is not required. Essays must be single-author, original, unpublished, non-fictional, and no longer than 15 double-spaced pages, with each student limited to one submission.
