Henry Friesen Award and Lecture (Temporarily Paused)

The Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation (CSCI) administers the Henry Friesen Award and Lecture (temporarily paused), recognizing a Canadian MD or PhD with internationally recognized, high‑calibre biomedical or related research; the award provides $3,000 toward travel/hotel to the RCPSC/CSCI annual meeting and includes honorary CSCI membership. The recipient is required to deliver a 35–40 minute, broadly philosophical lecture at the CSCI Annual Conference and to submit a 2,000–3,000 word review article to Clinical and Investigative Medicine. Eligible nominees are Canadian MDs or PhDs actively conducting research at a Canadian university whose sustained body of work is novel, of proven longitudinal impact, and exemplifies role‑model leadership for CSCI/RCPSC membership. Nominations (deadline TBD while the award is paused) must include two sponsor letters (nominator and seconder), the nominee’s CV with full publication list and contact details, and two representative publications; selection is made by the CSCI Awards Committee and ratified by the CSCI Executive.
