Heroes Tribute Scholarships (Children of the Fallen, Children of the Wounded, Grandchildren)

About this program

The Scholarship Foundation (est. 1962) provides undergraduate scholarships to children and stepchildren of U.S. Marines and Navy corpsmen, chaplains, or religious program specialists attached to Marine units, with dedicated tracks for Children of the Fallen (guaranteed $30,000 over four years), Children of the Wounded (up to $40,000 over four years), and limited grandchild awards requiring proof of grandparent association membership. Applicants must have a minimum 2.00 GPA, plan to attend an accredited institution eligible for federal funding, submit a complete application with required documents by the deadline, and generally demonstrate financial need (family adjusted gross income ≤ $129,000 for 2024); income eligibility is waived for Children of the Fallen and veteran parents must have an honorable discharge. Disqualifications include already holding or expecting to hold an undergraduate degree by August 1, 2026, attendance at a Federal Service Academy or a school not listed on College Navigator, lack of a high school diploma by August 1, 2026, certain stepparent separations, and participation in dual enrollment or early-access programs.
