HIP Graduate Student Award

About this program

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) offers the HIP Graduate Student Award to support early-career graduate students pursuing blood-science research and academic hematology careers. The award provides $40,000 annually for two years, supporting tuition or salary, research and training expenses, health insurance, and travel to the ASH annual meeting. Applicants must be first-, second-, or third-year PhD students in the United States, Canada, or Mexico with at least two years remaining, a relevant research project, and plans for an investigative career in blood science; they must also demonstrate alignment with the Hematology Inclusion Pathway. Required materials include NIH biosketches for the applicant and mentor, a project proposal, career development plan, HIP response, and personal statement.
