About this program
The Hawaii Education Association (HEA) offers the Hiroshi and Barbara Kim Yamashita HEA Scholarship to support full-time undergraduate students majoring in education who intend to teach in Hawaii public schools. The scholarship awards $2,000, paid as $1,000 per semester, to one recipient with a GPA of 3.2 or better. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited institution and demonstrate financial need, with applications reopening in February 2026.
