IAMSE Educational Scholarship and Curriculum Innovation Grants

About this program

The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) funds multiple Educational Scholarship and Curriculum Innovation Grants of up to $5,000 each (typically paid as two $2,500 annual installments) to support two‑year projects that produce generalizable educational research or curricular innovations; the PI also receives a $1,500 travel award to present results at an IAMSE conference. Applicants must be IAMSE members (one proposal per member per year; PIs may not be authors on other active IAMSE‑funded projects and prior IAMSE grantees are ineligible) and submit a single PDF via the IAMSE online form containing a 5‑page main proposal plus budget/justification, biosketches, references, and letters of support. Budgets cannot include indirect costs or faculty salaries (publication costs allowed up to $500; food/incentives permitted), and human subjects research requires IRB approval or exemption within 90 days of notification before funds are disbursed. Funded projects must present at an IAMSE conference within three years and submit mid‑year, end of year‑1, and final reports; proposals are due annually by January 15 (received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern).
