IE&EE Division Student Achievement Awards (including H. H. Dow Memorial Student Achievement Award)

About this program

The Electrochemical Society (ECS) Industrial Electrochemistry & Electrochemical Engineering (IE&EE) Division awards annual Student Achievement Awards, including the H. H. Dow Memorial Award, to recognize and encourage promising young engineers and scientists in electrochemical engineering; awards are presented at the ECS spring meeting. Recipients receive a framed certificate, US$1,000, one-year ECS membership and a division luncheon ticket, and are invited (but not required) to present at an IE&EE symposium and submit a research summary within a year. Eligible candidates must be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a college or university graduate program by the June 15 nomination deadline; self-nominations are not accepted and nominations are valid for one year (renomination allowed if still eligible). Nomination packages must include the electronic award form, all post‑secondary transcripts, a two‑page overview of current research, a statement linking the work to electrochemical engineering or applied electrochemistry, a CV/resume, and a letter of recommendation from the research supervisor.
