About this program
The IEEE Photonics Society Technical Skills Educator Award recognizes an individual educator who delivers effective, impactful, and innovative technician and technical skills training in photonics, particularly for traditionally underserved communities. The award includes a certificate, cash honorarium, and support to attend the presentation. Nominations are open to any qualified educator, regardless of IEEE or Society membership, and must include documented impacts in classroom practice, subject leadership, recruitment, and community outreach, along with a three-page CV, proposed citation, and two to three endorsement letters. Nominations must be submitted by May 31 through an IEEE Web Account.
