IIE Scholar Rescue Fund Fellowships for Threatened Scholars

The Institute of International Education (IIE) Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE‑SRF) arranges, funds, and supports yearlong fellowships that place threatened and displaced scholars in visiting appointments at partnering higher-education institutions worldwide, including within scholars’ home regions, to enable continuation of research and teaching in safety. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with award decisions issued at least quarterly and on an emergency basis when needed; specific award amounts vary and are not listed on the program page. Eligible applicants are threatened or displaced scholars of any nationality seeking placement at an IIE‑SRF partner host institution; the program also accepts referrals, host partnerships, and donations to support placements.
