About this program

The American Chemical Society (ACS), via the Hach Program, offers the ACS-Hach Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Scholarship to support recent graduates and graduate students pursuing a master’s in education or secondary chemistry/science teacher certification who intend to become high school chemistry teachers. Scholarships provide stipends up to $6,000 for full-time study (up to $3,000 for part-time), renewable for up to three years and paid in two equal installments per academic year; funds may be used for tuition, books, room and board, and other education-related expenses (not retroactive). Recipients receive mentoring and program support in return for a three-year teaching commitment. Eligible applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a chemistry-related field, have less than one year of work experience outside degree attainment, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and be accepted into an education master’s or teacher certification program; applications open Feb 1, 2026 and are due May 1, 2026.
