Indian Arts Research Center Native Artist Fellowship

About this program

The Indian Arts Research Center at the School for Advanced Research awards three non-residential Native Artist Fellowships each year, each carrying a $15,000 stipend to support the creative development of established and emerging Native American artists. Fellowships fund a wide range of creative disciplines—including sculpture, performance, basketry, painting, printmaking, digital and mixed media, photography, pottery, writing, and film/video—to help artists pursue new directions and deepen their practice. Applicants must be Native American artists; applications open November 1 with a January 15 annual deadline, awards run July 1–June 30, and one fellowship is designated for women.
