About this program

The Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan offers the A. Regula Herzog Young Investigators Fund to support research and training activities of junior researchers, with priority given to projects on older populations. Awards of up to $11,000 may cover research supplies and services, conference/travel/training costs, professional memberships, and participation in SRC/ICPSR summer courses; funds are generally for one year with a possible six-month extension. Eligible applicants are University of Michigan junior researchers, research investigators, research assistant professors, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. Applications (due February 9, 2026) must include a CV, a project proposal (maximum three single-spaced pages plus references) outlining goals, hypothesis and design, proposed activities, timeline, budget, expected outcomes, brief cover-sheet responses, and an academic reference who will receive a copy of the proposal.
