Innovative Student Research Grant

About this program

The Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis (SABA), with administration by the ABAI Science Board, offers Innovative Student Research Grants to support basic or applied research in the experimental analysis of behavior. Awards include up to six doctoral dissertation grants of $5,000 and up to four master’s thesis grants of $2,500, plus one $1,000 award, with preference for translational research; applications are due January 13, 2027. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an eligible psychology, education, behavioral science, or allied-discipline graduate program, have at least one full academic year remaining, and demonstrate commitment to behavior-analytic research. Proposals must be methodologically rigorous and include a biosketch, advisor and institutional resource letters, and a detailed research proposal and budget; applicants may not apply for both this grant and the Bijou Grant in the same year.
