International Early-career Physiologist Travel Awards

About this program

The American Physiological Society offers the International Early-career Physiologist (IECP) Travel Awards to defray travel expenses for international early-career physiologists to attend the American Physiology Summit and present their work, with up to 12 awards of $1,000 each annually. Eligible applicants are APS members living and working outside the United States who are graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or junior faculty (not above the rank of assistant professor) and who are current doctoral candidates or received a doctoral degree within the past seven years. Applicants must be the presenting (first or senior) author of a Summit abstract and submit that abstract (PDF of Summit submission), a letter of support describing the applicant’s role, and an NIH- or NSF-format biosketch, and must deliver a two-minute elevator speech at the Summit. Awards are reviewed by the International Committee; recipients must attend and present at the Summit, funds are wired after the meeting and cannot be deferred, individuals may receive up to two IECP awards, and applications are accepted only via online submission.
