About this program

The International Peace Research Association (IPRA) Foundation offers Peace Research Grants to support rigorous, interdisciplinary investigation into the causes of conflict and nonviolent strategies to advance conditions of peace; applications are currently closed and will reopen June 1, 2026. Awards are limited and paid 60% at project start and 40% upon receipt of an approved final report within one year; projects must align with IPRAF’s mission, include a dissemination plan for stakeholders beyond academia, and demonstrate ethical, culturally competent, and nonviolent approaches. Eligibility excludes previous recipients, IPRA Foundation Board members and non‑board reviewers, and applicants with unacceptable familial or other relationships to Board members or reviewers; only one grant is allowed per applicant. Applications require a completed form, CV, a project proposal (maximum six single‑spaced pages, Calibri 11, 1‑inch margins addressing nine specified components) and a letter of support emailed directly by the recommender; strict budget restrictions apply (no PI salary, indirect costs, first/business‑class travel, etc.), and the use of generative AI in proposal writing is prohibited.
