IRP Visiting Poverty Scholars Program

The Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) offers the Visiting Poverty Scholars Program to support research by U.S.-based poverty scholars from low-income backgrounds and to enhance their professional resources and networks. The award funds a one-week visit to IRP or one of its Collaborative of Poverty Centers partners to meet resident faculty and staff, access center resources, and present a seminar. Eligible applicants are U.S.-based scholars conducting poverty-related research who identify as coming from low-income backgrounds. Past scholars have included assistant professors and postdoctoral researchers, reflecting the program’s suitability for early-career researchers seeking mentoring and institutional linkages.
