ISHLT Extracorporeal Photopheresis Immunomodulation in Thoracic Transplantation Challenge Grant

The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), supported by Therakos LLC, offers one one-year challenge grant of up to $90,000 for early-career research advancing extracorporeal photopheresis immunomodulation in cardiothoracic transplantation. Projects may address early ECP use, chronic rejection prevention, treatment-response biomarkers, or care for high-risk patients, with the goal of improving graft survival, organ function, and health-related quality of life. Applicants must have completed training fewer than six years ago, hold or be pursuing an appointment at an accredited institution, provide institutional commitment, and be ISHLT members or have applied for membership by December 31. Finalists must present their proposals in person at the ISHLT 2026 Annual Meeting in Toronto; Therakos employees and applicants with undisclosed substantial conflicts of interest are ineligible.
