ISHLT/Enduring Hearts Pediatric Heart Transplantation Innovation Challenge Grant

About this program

The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) and Enduring Hearts offer a one-year grant of up to $30,000 for innovative, early-stage research improving outcomes for pediatric heart transplant patients. Priority areas include reducing rejection and cardiac allograft vasculopathy, improving survival before and immediately after transplantation, and supporting long-term recipient health and transition to adult care. Applicants must hold an academic appointment at an accredited institution, or have an accepted faculty position beginning by the grant start date, and must be current ISHLT members or have submitted a membership application by January 20, 2026. Finalists must present their proposals at the ISHLT 2026 Annual Meeting in Toronto, and funded projects must not overlap with existing research.
