About this program
The Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) offers the Itek Award to recognize an outstanding original student publication in imaging science or engineering published in an IS&T journal (JIST, JPI, or JEI) during the preceding calendar year; recipients receive an engraved plaque and a $500 cash prize for the primary author, with certificates for co‑authors, and the award is given no more than once per year. Both IS&T members and non‑members are eligible; the lead author must have been a full‑ or part‑time student at an accredited institution when the work was performed. The paper must be an original student publication that constitutes a significant contribution to imaging and meet high standards of technical and scientific writing.
