J. G. Edwards Prize

About this program

The Coleopterists Society offers the J. G. Edwards Prize to recognize outstanding Master’s thesis research on the biology and evolution of beetles, with a $500 cash award, plaque, and recognition at the Society’s annual general meeting. Eligible papers must have been published in the preceding calendar year in a widely distributed, ICZN-compliant journal or book, with the nominee as first author and former Master’s student. Nominations must include a nomination letter, advisor verification of the thesis basis and author contributions, and a PDF of the publication; self-nominations are not accepted. Applications are due March 1 of the year following publication and may be submitted by email to the prize committee chair.
