Jack Simons Award in Theoretical Physical Chemistry

The ACS Physical Chemistry (PHYS) Division, in partnership with the Telluride School on Theoretical Chemistry, awards the Jack Simons Award in Theoretical Physical Chemistry to recognize outstanding contributions in theoretical chemistry; the recipient receives a $5,000 honorarium, presents at a PHYS symposium at the following fall ACS meeting, is honored at the PHYS reception, and is invited to give a plenary lecture at the next Telluride School. Eligibility is limited to members of the ACS PHYS Division who have not previously received a national scientific-society award for scientific accomplishments; members of the National Academy of Sciences, currently serving PHYS Executive Committee members (and those up for election), and self-nominees are ineligible, while donors may be nominated. Nominations must be submitted as a single PDF containing a nominator form, a nomination letter (2-page limit), two seconding letters, the nominee’s CV, a list of selected publications, and written assurance of in-person attendance if selected; submissions are due November 30 each year, carry over for three years, and may be updated by resubmission.
