About this program
The American Society for Legal History offers the $250 Jane Burbank Global Legal History Article Prize for the best article in regional, global, imperial, comparative, or transnational legal history published during the previous calendar year. Eligible articles may address any topic or period, including methodological or theoretical contributions, and must be published in English in a scholarly journal. Authors may self-nominate, and nominations must include an electronic copy of the article submitted to burbankprize@aslh.net by June 1, 2026.
