Janet Levy Fund

About this program

The American Musicological Society’s Janet Levy Fund provides $500–$2,000 for professional travel and research expenses, including conference participation, archival visits, document reproduction, and specialized research materials. Applicants must be AMS members who hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent scholarly achievement and lack employer-based research funding. Ineligible applicants include current full-time fellows, retirees, scholars who earned their PhD within the past five years, and anyone who received a Levy Award within the previous three years. Applications require a 500-word project narrative, detailed budget, CV, and one recommendation letter; the deadline is in early April.
