JB Fairfax Award for Rural & Regional Journalism and Communications

About this program

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW offers the JB Fairfax Award for Rural & Regional Journalism and Communications, a national scholarship that provides $12,500 plus a program of internships with the RAS Media Team at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Australian Community Media’s The Land, and the ABC Brisbane newsroom to deliver hands‑on rural and regional reporting experience. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents aged 30 or under and be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate course at an approved Australian education provider, with demonstrated interest in rural/regional affairs and a career in journalism/communications.
