Jeanne Kissner Undergraduate Essay in Humanities Award

About this program

The Association for Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS) offers the Jeanne Kissner Undergraduate Essay in Humanities Award to recognize an outstanding scholarly essay on any Canadian studies topic. The winner receives free registration to the next ACSUS biennial conference, a two-year ACSUS membership, and a certificate of recognition. Applicants must be U.S. undergraduates who are citizens or permanent residents and have enrolled in a Canadian studies course within the two years preceding the conference; instructors must submit one essay from a student in each Canadian studies course. Essays should preferably be 5–15 double-spaced pages and are evaluated for originality and effective presentation, with applications due September 1, 2027.
