About this program
The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) offers the John David Jackson Award for Excellence in Graduate Physics Education to physicists and physics educators who have made outstanding contributions to graduate curriculum development, mentorship, or classroom teaching. The recipient delivers an address at an AAPT Meeting and receives a monetary award, an award certificate and citation, and travel expenses to attend the meeting. Self-nomination is not permitted, preference is given to AAPT members, previous winners of the Oersted Medal or the Robert A. Millikan Medal are ineligible, and nominations must be submitted via the AAPT nomination form; the award is presented only occasionally.
