Jones Backcountry Adventure Grant

About this program

The American Alpine Club and Jones Snowboards offer two grants totaling $1,500 each, along with a Jones splitboard, skins, and backpack, to support human-powered, multi-day splitboarding expeditions in North America. The Jones Backcountry Adventure Grant and the Live Like Liz Award (for female applicants) aim to encourage amateur backcountry snowboarders to explore winter wilderness areas with a focus on adventure and environmental consciousness. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and not professionally sponsored; projects must be completed by the end of the calendar year, with recipients submitting a trip report, photos, and videos within two months of their expedition. Applications open on October 3, 2024, and close on February 28, 2025.
