Josephine Gay Grant

About this program

The Maryland Association of School Business Officials (MD ASBO), in partnership with the Safe and Sound Schools Foundation, offers the Josephine Gay Grant of $1,500 to an MD ASBO member to fund school safety equipment or programs, safety-related speakers/events, or registration, travel and lodging for the National Summit on School Safety or a similar approved event. Applicants must be current MD ASBO members employed full-time by a Maryland school district with duties at least 50% devoted to school safety/security (primary safety officers in smaller districts may be eligible even if they serve in another capacity). A 1–2 page application must describe the applicant’s role, job duties specific to safety/security, district safety goals, and how the grant will be used, and must be submitted to Jeff LaPorta at jlaporta@asbo.org by close of business on March 15. Selection is made by an MD ASBO Evaluation Committee composed of the Executive Director and two Directors-at-Large.
