JSM Best Student Paper Award

About this program

The American Statistical Association’s Business and Economic Statistics Section offers up to four Best Student Paper Awards to support student participation in the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings in Boston, August 1–6, 2026; awardees receive a cash prize and present their papers at JSM. Applicants must be B&E section members enrolled in doctoral programs in business, economics, econometrics, statistics, or allied fields, or must have completed the work as a student during 2025; postdoctoral researchers are not eligible. The submitted paper must feature the student as lead author, be unpublished or not yet accepted for publication, and be accompanied by the application form, faculty advisor letter, and current transcript in a single file. Applications should be emailed to the award committee co-chairs by November 15, and awards require presentation at JSM.
