Polk County Medical Society’s Kathie J. Lyman Medical Student Scholarship Fund awards two annual one‑year scholarships of $1,000 each to support medical students and honor Kathie J. Lyman’s longtime service to medical education. Awards are made by the Scholarship Committee based on scholastic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Applicants must have been legal residents of Iowa at the time of applying to medical school and be currently enrolled as a 1st–4th year student in an accredited MD, DO, or DPM program in Iowa; complete applications including a current transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a 1–2 page personal essay must be submitted electronically or by mail by March 16.
