About this program

The American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) offers the Kathirkamanathan Shanmuganathan Research Grant to support investigator-initiated emergency radiology research, program evaluation, education innovation, and multidisciplinary or multi-institutional collaborations. One award of $20,000 ($10,000 annually for two years) is available for allowable expenses such as staff, materials, tuition, and collaboration travel, excluding investigator time and institutional indirect costs. Principal investigators must be ASER members, while collaborating institutions may be located worldwide; projects must not already have external or ASER funding. Awardees must present their findings at the ASER annual meeting and submit a manuscript to Emergency Radiology, with applications due June 30, 2026.
