KCNA Professional Development Fund

About this program

King County Nurses Association (KCNA) offers the Professional Development Fund to provide up to $500 per recipient for continuing nursing education when employer funding is not available, with ten awards annually (total budget $5,000) awarded across two cycles—applications due Oct 1 for offerings Jan 1–Jun 30 and Mar 1 for offerings Jul 1–Dec 31. Applicants must be current KCNA/WSNA members and request funds for CNE provided by accredited/approved organizations that award contact hours (e.g., ANCC, AANP, CA Board–approved CEUs, CME); funds are not intended for degree or certificate programs except for conference attendance to present a poster. Winners are randomly selected and notified within two weeks of each deadline, and reimbursement is issued after submission of proof of attendance/completion (requested within 30 days); online courses must be completed within six months. Eligible expenses include tuition, transportation, and lodging (meals excluded).
