Kushlan Research Award

About this program

The Waterbird Society offers the Kushlan Research Award to support significant scientific advances in the biology, ecology, or conservation of wading birds, including herons, storks, ibises, and related species. One or more awards of $1,000–$7,000 may be granted globally to students, professionals, or amateurs for projects addressing species relationships or the status, distribution, and population sizes of poorly known Ciconiiformes. Applicants are evaluated on the likelihood that their work will produce timely, substantial peer-reviewed publications; proposals are due February 1, and recipients must submit a brief project report and acknowledge the award in publications.
