Kyle Whorrall Graduate Student Travel Award

About this program

The Coleopterists Society offers the Kyle Whorrall Graduate Student Travel Award to support graduate student members presenting nearly completed beetle research at national or international in-person conferences. Four awards are granted each year (two per deadline) of $500 each to help cover registration, airfare, accommodations, and meals; awardees must attend the meeting while enrolled (or in the same calendar year as thesis/dissertation defense) and present a 10-minute version of their talk at the Society’s online Annual General Meeting. Applicants must be current graduate students in good standing, members of The Coleopterists Society, and have an accepted abstract for an in-person conference; each student may receive the award only once per degree. Applications (approved abstract, faculty advisor letter confirming enrollment and project status, and confirmation of visa/responsibility) are due March 1 and September 1 and should be emailed to Keith Philips at keith.philips@wku.edu.
