LabMedUK Medal Award

About this program

The Association for Laboratory Medicine awards the annual LabMedUK Medal Award for an oral communication at LabMedUK that recognises original Laboratory Medicine research completed by the presenter and demonstrating impact on the patient pathway; the winner receives £300 and the runner-up £150. Eligibility is limited to Association members who were in active training (not yet FRCPath) when the work was completed, with work eligible if submitted within one year of being awarded FRCPath, and applicants must certify that the work (or a substantial, clearly defined part) is their own; case reports are excluded. Shortlisting is from poster abstract submissions (maximum 300 words) and applicants must indicate on the submission form their desire to be considered; shortlisted candidates present a 10‑minute talk plus 5‑minute questions at a dedicated Medal Award session and should address impact, sustainability, and equality, diversity & inclusion in their submission.
