LCRA Community Grants

About this program

Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) offers Community Grants of up to $100,000 for capital improvement projects that build, renovate, or purchase equipment to benefit entire communities; grants are awarded twice yearly and a one‑time $100,000 award is available for the January 2026 cycle. Projects emphasizing volunteer fire departments, lifesaving public safety equipment, public education/demonstration components, and needs arising from natural disasters receive priority. Eligible applicants include volunteer fire departments, emergency responders, libraries, civic groups, museums and other tax‑exempt nonprofits, local governments, schools, and hospitals, and projects must be located within LCRA’s wholesale electric or water service area or areas served by LCRA Transmission Services Corporation.
