Leonard Norman Primiano Retired Scholar Travel Award

The Folk Belief and Religious Folklife Section of the American Folklore Society offers the Leonard Norman Primiano Retired Scholar Travel Award to support retired scholars presenting on vernacular Catholicism or vernacular religion at the AFS annual meeting. Two awards of $500–$1,500 may be provided annually for registration, travel, and hotel expenses, with funds released after the meeting. Applicants may be domestic or international retired scholars, must belong to the Section, and must have their AFS meeting participation accepted; recipients may receive the award no more than twice. Applications are due June 15 and must include meeting abstracts or a participation summary, a brief CV or biography, and an expense budget.
