About this program

The Leukemia Research Foundation offers New Investigator Research Grants of up to $150,000 over two years for projects focused on leukemia, including myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). The 2027 funding cycle requires a letter of intent by February 5, 2027, with full applications due April 12, 2027 by invitation. Applicants must be independent investigators within seven years of their first faculty appointment, affiliated with a nonprofit academic institution, and may conduct research outside the United States. Applicants with NIH R01, VA Merit, equivalent funding, or active grants totaling $175,000 or more annually in direct costs are ineligible; fellows, co-PI arrangements, and renewal applications are also excluded.
