About this program
The American Historical Association offers LGBTQ+ History Research Grants of up to $500 to support new or continuing research in LGBTQ+ history across all temporal and geographic fields. Funds may be used within 15 months for research-related expenses, with preference for advanced doctoral students, nontenured faculty, and unaffiliated scholars. Applicants must be AHA members and submit a CV, a project statement of up to 750 words, a one-page bibliography, and budget information; letters of recommendation are not required. Applicants may receive no more than $1,500 cumulatively from AHA research grants within five years.
