Lila R. Gleitman Prize for Early-Career Contributions to Cognitive Science

The Cognitive Science Society, jointly with the Society for Language Development, offers the Lila R. Gleitman Prize to recognize an early-career woman whose research demonstrates exceptional intellectual depth, ingenuity, and significance in cognitive science. The recipient receives $35,000, a framed certificate, and an invitation to present her work at the Society’s Annual Meeting. Nominees must self-identify as women, be within 10 years of completing a doctoral or equivalent degree (with extensions for qualifying leaves), and be conducting cognitive science research in any subfield; self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations are open October 16–December 16, 2026, and require a nomination statement, CV, five significant publications or an overview research statement, and contact information for two potential referees.
