Linda Hall Library Fellowships

About this program

Linda Hall Library is offering 2026–27 research fellowships in the history of science and related humanities to support scholars working with its collections; note that 2026–27 applications are now closed. Fellowships are residential or virtual (1–4 months) with general awards of $3,000/month for doctoral students and $4,200/month for postdoctoral or other terminal-degree scholars, and include specialized awards such as the one‑month History of Science and Medicine fellowship ($3,000), the Pearson Fellowship in Aerospace History (up to two months at $4,200/month), and the Presidential Fellowship in Bibliography (up to four months at $4,200/month). Eligible applicants include doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and independent scholars; priority is given to projects that require unique Linda Hall holdings, the Library encourages applications from underrepresented groups, and local Kansas City–area scholars are welcome.
