The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation) administers State Clinical Achievement Awards and annually selects one state nominee to receive the Louis M. DiCarlo Award for Recent Clinical Achievement, recognizing a significant, specific clinical accomplishment in audiology or speech‑language pathology within the past six years; the DiCarlo recipient receives a recognition plaque and $2,500 and state recipients receive a certificate. Nominations must be submitted by a representative of each state association, which may select one clinician whose recent, well‑defined achievement (clinical service, teaching, research, administration, single-client outcome, program, or agency initiative) occurred within the last six years. Nominators must complete an online Nomination and Summary Form (contact information, years of achievement, three-sentence summary, and description of the state selection process) and upload a single PDF Nomination Narrative (maximum 8 pages) with required A–E section headers addressing identification/description (when/where), significance, nominee’s role and advancement of clinical practice, and evidence of support. Narratives must be single‑spaced, 12‑point uncondensed font with ≥1‑inch margins; submissions missing required information will be excluded, nominators are notified by September and recipients are announced and honored in November.
