Louise Hay Award for Contributions to Mathematics Education

About this program

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) offers the Louise Hay Award annually to recognize a woman’s outstanding contributions to mathematics education in its broadest sense. The recipient receives a $500 prize, honorary certificate, and recognition in the AWM Newsletter, with presentation at the Joint Mathematics Meetings. Nominees may be of any nationality or citizenship, must be living at the time of nomination, and nominations of women from underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged. Any individual may nominate, including self-nominations; submissions are due April 1–May 15 and must include a one- to three-page nomination letter and an additional letter of support.
