About this program
The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust offers the Lynwood W. Swanson Scientific Research Award and Swanson Promise for Scientific Research Award to recognize outstanding research faculty at private undergraduate institutions in the Pacific Northwest. The awards honor nationally recognized discovery research, meaningful undergraduate engagement, leadership in advancing undergraduate research, and continued growth of a productive research program. Institutions must submit invited nominations for senior faculty with established research programs or junior faculty with fewer than 10 years of faculty experience who show exceptional promise for developing a sustainable program. Nominations are evaluated by a panel of national experts.
