Machine Learning on Graph for Interest-based Personalization

About this program

Meta AI invites university faculty to submit proposals on graph-based machine learning for interpretable, trustworthy, and personalized recommendation, including user-interest modeling, explainability, diversity, fairness, and cohort characterization. Up to two projects may receive as much as $75,000 each through a sponsored research agreement with the applicant’s university, with submissions due March 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Applicants must be current full-time faculty and principal investigators at accredited, PhD-granting institutions, comply with applicable laws, and be eligible under U.S. sanctions and Meta’s restrictions on government and political participants. Proposals must include a 1–2-page project summary, draft budget, participant CVs, and institutional legal and financial contacts; institutions must accept open-science terms and Meta’s sponsored research agreement.
