Major Conference Grants (Society for Renaissance Studies)

About this program

The Society for Renaissance Studies offers Major Conference Grants of £600–£1,500 to support conferences or colloquia in Renaissance studies held in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, covering organisational costs, participant travel/subsistence (including postgraduate bursaries) and alternative care arrangements. Awards prioritize research dissemination and academic merit across Renaissance-related fields (history, art, literature, science, religion, music, etc.). Eligible applicants are conference organisers with an academic post at a UK or Irish university, museum or gallery, or postgraduate researchers registered for a higher degree at such institutions, and all applicants must be SRS members. Applicants must have primary institutional funding, disclose other sources, submit the SRS application form plus one supporting statement from a referee outside their institution, and note that grants cannot be used for speaker fees, lecture/seminar series, teaching-programme events, or normally for regular annual society conferences.
