Malacological Research Grants

About this program

The Malacological Society of Australasia offers annual research grants of up to $10,000 to support graduate students and early-career researchers conducting fieldwork and studies on molluscs, with priority given to projects advancing knowledge of Australasian mollusc species. Eligible research encompasses taxonomy, ecology, physiology, population genetics, and conservation, including consumable and logistical costs. Applicants must be financial members of the Malacological Society of Australasia at the time of application, with preference given to those not employed as professional malacologists. Successful recipients are required to submit a popular article for the Society's newsletter within 12 months of receiving funding.
