Marsh W. White Award

About this program

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) and Sigma Pi Sigma offer the Marsh W. White Award to fund SPS chapters' projects that promote interest in physics among students and the general public, with several awards of up to $600 made annually. Chapters apply through the SPS online application system (one proposal per chapter) using provided proposal and budget templates; applications open September 1 and are due November 15 (or the following Monday if the due date falls on a weekend). Eligible applicants are SPS chapters in good standing; the project leader must be a student member and the chapter advisor must approve the submission. Awardees must accept in FluidReview and upload a group photo, institutional Tax ID, and press contact; half of the award is disbursed on acceptance and the remainder is paid after the project is completed and a final report is submitted by May 31 of the academic year (or funds may be recovered).
