Marsha I. Lester Award for Exemplary Impact in Physical Chemistry

The Physical Chemistry Division (PHYS) of the American Chemical Society administers the Marsha I. Lester Award to recognize exemplary impact in physical chemistry research; the recipient receives a $10,000 honorarium, an invitation to present in a PHYS symposium at the following fall ACS meeting, and formal recognition at the PHYS reception. Nominees must be members of the PHYS division; self-nominations are not accepted and current PHYS Executive Committee members or those up for election are ineligible while serving (donors may be nominated). Nominations must be submitted as a single PDF to acs-phys@colostate.edu with the nominee’s name in the subject by November 30 each year and must include the nomination form, a two‑page nomination letter, two seconding letters, the nominee’s CV, a list of selected publications, and a written assurance the nominee will attend the PHYS awards banquet and give the seminar in person if selected; nominations carry over for three years and may be updated by resubmission.
